Sha’arei Tsedek Choir

Our choir, under the leadership of Musical Director Louise Katin, is made up of voluntary members of the synagogue.

We meet fortnightly for rehearsals and sing regularly during Shabbat morning services. We pride ourselves on being able to sing a wide variety of styles of music within our services, some more traditional and some more modern. Music is an important part of creating a cohesive and meaningful Shabbat service and we work hard to create the right atmosphere for the occasion through the music we sing. The following are samples of some of our Shabbat repertoire:

During the Days of Awe the choir can be heard throughout the holiday season from the beautiful choral Selichot service through Rosh Hashanah culminating with Kol Nidre and Yom Kippur.

As the choir is made up of members of the synagogue there is a familial, friendly atmosphere among the singers. As well as aiming to make a great sound musically we all try to have a good time doing it.

New members of the choir are always welcome – the ability to sing is essential but not the ability to read music.
