Set out below is the criteria Sha’arei Tsedek North London Reform Synagogue will be using for selecting causes for its 2022 / 5782 Days of Awe Appeal. Below please find details of how to submit a proposal for consideration.

General Criteria

This year our Days of Awe Appeal will be made by selecting two causes, one cause from each of the following categories:–

  • Ukrainian Refugees
  • Disability

The selected causes will be afforded opportunities to raise the profile of their organisation and their specific projects at Sha’arei Tsedek.

Any causes supported by Sha’arei Tsedek would be expected to meet at least two of the following criteria:

  • A small organisation, where the synagogue’s donations will make a noticeable difference
  • The possibility of developing a longer term relationship
  • Based in Greater London
  • Charities must be registered with the Charity Commission

Appeal Publicity

A dedicated appeal page will be created on the website where appeal information and links will be placed and donations can be made by members.

Information about the appeal may also be included in the Information Guide for the Days of Awe that is circulated to all members.

In addition, the synagogue will promote the appeal on its various social media channels, focussing each week on one specific cause.

The successful causes will need to supply the following:-

  • A 150-word description to be used in various letters and advertising
  • A high resolution logo
  • Images showing their work in progress that can be used on publicity
  • Call to action information
  • Website and social media address

There will be an opportunity for the successful causes to meet the community and promote their causes.
