The Big Soup Serve

Sunday 23 November, 12 pm – 1.00 pm

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Mitzvah Day — two decades of communities coming together across the UK and around the world to give time, not money, and make a positive difference through acts of kindness.

To celebrate this special milestone, the theme for 2025 is The Big Soup Serve — a warm and simple way to bring people together, share good food, and support those in need.

At Sha’arei Tsedek, we’ll be joining in with a day full of warmth, connection, and community spirit — one bowl at a time!

Collect for Good

We’re collecting dry ingredients and tins to donate to our local food bank. Every item helps provide comfort and nourishment to someone in need.

Please bring:

  • Lentils | Tinned tomatoes or vegetables | Pasta | Stock cubes | Tins of soup

Donations can be dropped off at the synagogue from now until Sunday 23 November.

Community Lunch

On Mitzvah Day itself (Sunday 23 November), we’ll come together to enjoy a delicious bowl of homemade soup and celebrate this nationwide day of giving.
